SMP is one of the most versatile treatments in hair restoration — addressing a wider range of presentations than any single biological therapy.
Adding the visual appearance of density across areas of diffuse thinning or a widening part creating the impression of a full head of hair at a shorter length. For clients with thinning hair who want an immediate cosmetic improvement while biological treatments take effect, or for those who want a permanent solution without medication or injections, SMP delivers results that are visible from the first session.
A full SMP treatment creates a natural shaved-head look with a defined, age-appropriate hairline, indistinguishable from a natural close-cropped cut. For clients at Norwood V–VII the most advanced stages of male pattern baldness SMP is often the most pragmatic and effective cosmetic solution, creating a result that is clean, contemporary, and completely natural in appearance.
FUT (strip) transplant scars, FUE donor scars, surgical scars, trauma scars, and burn scars can all be effectively concealed with precisely placed pigment. Scar tissue responds differently to pigment than normal scalp skin, requiring specific techniques and a highly experienced practitioner. Andreea's scar camouflage work is among the most technically demanding applications of SMP and among the most transformative for clients.

For clients with patchy alopecia who are undergoing immunological treatment, SMP provides immediate coverage that allows them to resume normal social and professional life without visible evidence of the condition while biological recovery progresses.
SMP between transplanted grafts to give the immediate impression of greater density while new hair grows in. Hair transplant results take 12–18 months to fully mature. In the interim — and in areas where graft density is limited SMP fills the visual gaps, creating the appearance of full coverage from the early stages of recovery. This is particularly valuable in crown coverage, where transplant density is often lower.

Pigment Selection & Hairline Design: An extensive consultation and design process takes place before any pigment is applied. The precise shade is selected or blended from multiple shades to match your natural hair colour and skin undertone with absolute accuracy. The colour will evolve slightly as it heals and settles, and this is accounted for in the selection process

Pigment Delivery: Using specialised micro-needles significantly finer than those used in traditional tattooing pigment is deposited at the precise dermal level of the scalp with control over depth, angle, and pressure. Each individual stipple replicates a single hair follicle

Healing & Touch-Up Sessions: The pigment lightens as it heals during the first two weeks this is normal and expected. Each subsequent session builds on the foundation of the previous one, adding depth, refinement, and any necessary adjustments to tone or density. By the end of the treatment course typically 2 to 3 sessions the result is complete, settled, and natural

Longevity & Maintenance: SMP pigments are specifically formulated for scalp application different in composition from standard tattoo ink, and designed to maintain their integrity and natural appearance over time. Results typically last 3 to 5 years before a touch-up session may be desired to refresh tone and definition. No monthly clinic visits, no medication protocols

Instructions
Following each session, the scalp requires careful management during the healing period. Andreea provides a complete written aftercare guide at each appointment the instructions below are standard post-treatment guidance.
- Avoid washing the scalp for 4 days post-session to allow the pigment to settle correctly
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise (heavy sweating) for 5 days post-treatment
- Avoid swimming pools for 2 weeks post-session chlorine can affect pigment retention
- Apply SPF to the scalp daily once healed UV exposure accelerates pigment fading over time
- Moisturise the scalp daily with a fragrance-free, alcohol-free product to maintain skin health
- Avoid picking or scratching the treated area during healing this can lift pigment
